Happy Birthday, Red Nation Rising. 6 months ago, November 10, 2012 from the Twitter account @NObamaChat, the first #RedNationRising Tweet was written! At the time, we were crippled because Obama had won re-election. There was very serious chatter on social media about Armed Revolution or Secession. That’s some serious chatter.
Although Obama won, there was a very interesting map published by the NY Times which showed that despite the Obama victory and all the Blue on the Electoral Map, the overwhelming number of counties in America (even Blue ones) were trending Red. That fact — all of America is trending conservative Red — birthed the hashtag #RedNationRising.
Immediately, Tweeps started rallying around it. It was a sign of hope when all seemed lost. The mainstream media were declaring us dead. Blue Dems were dancing on our graves. Many of us felt depressed, all was lost.
So the #RedNationRising hashtag connected. Within weeks it was the Number One Trending Topic on Twitter. Several weeks later, people just started using it regularly. Huge numbers of people! Incredible!
A month or two later, the Red Nation Rising Facebook Page launched. Literally, without any planning — or much help (that’s changed a bit!! Thanks to everyone volunteering and pitching in!!).
We don’t spend for advertising (we don’t have the money) and yet the Red Nation Rising digital footprint is exploding via social media!
This blog will be more active as new writers continue to join. The Facebook Page is thriving. Twitter buzz from the Official @RedNationRising account and the astronomical numbers of centrists, conservatives & libertarians using the #RedNationRising is amazing. We have some merchandise in the works (a rear window Red Nation Rising decal for your automobile, file cabinet, notebook, etc.) with all proceeds going to support this grassroots movement (details on that to follow).
Major politicians Follow Red Nation Rising on Twitter. How major? Senator Ted Cruz and his social media team follow Red Nation Rising, affiliated accounts and many of the great people contributing to the hashtag’s popularity. Other politicians and candidates do too!
There are Tea Party Accounts following, Political Action Committees, and most important and most touching, just regular people, like us, who love and care for America and each other and are doing what we can to take back America.
I think all of us, united, are doing one heckuva job.
Thank you so much for all the support. LIKES, COMMENTS, SHARES, TWEETS, FACEBOOK POSTS, ETC. push Red Nation Rising higher and higher every day.
We’re going to do it. We are a Red Nation Rising. We are going to win.
