A very interesting turn of events happened today regarding the country of Qatar and its Arab neighbors. Here is a quick timeline of major events that occurred with this country as they relate to Obama and then Trump for an idea of what it all might mean:
2009 Qatar a major financial backer behind the Common Core standards: “Globally, Common Core originated from the “One World Education” concept, a global goal orchestrated by the Connect All Schools program. Its origin is funded by the Qatar Foundation International (QFI). The director of QFI’s Research Center for Islamic Legislation and Ethics is Tariq Ramadan, grandson of Muslim Brotherhood founder, Hassan al-Banna.
According to the WND website, in 2011, QFI “partnered with the Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education to facilitate matchmaking between classrooms in the U.S. and international schools through … the ‘Connect All Schools’ project.” QFI states on its website that the initiative was founded in response to Mr. Obama’s infamous 2009 Cairo speech, during which the Muslim Brotherhood was seated in the front row.
Mr. Obama’s mentor, domestic terrorist Bill Ayers, received $49.2 million from Vartan Gregorian, a board member of the Qatar Foundation, who also is involved with Mr. Obama’s White House Fellowships Commission. Gregorian is an integral part of Connect All Schools, through which Qatar invested $5 million to teach Arabic in American public schools.
Domestically, in America, Common Core was “created by” the National Governor’s Association (NGA), Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO), Achieve Inc., ACT and the College Board. The Common Core State Standards are copyrighted by the NGA and CCSSO, a private company, which means they cannot be changed.”
Vartan Gregorian is, of course, the Iranian Muslim of the Carnegie Foundation.
In 2011, Qatar’s $1 million gifted $1 million to Hillary Clinton’s charity while she was at State Dept….”Clinton Foundation officials last month declined to confirm the Qatar donation. In response to additional questions, a foundation spokesman, Brian Cookstra, this week said that it accepted the $1 million gift from Qatar, but this did not amount to a “material increase” in the Gulf country’s support for the charity. Cookstra declined to say whether Qatari officials received their requested meeting with Bill Clinton.”
2013 former Vice President Al Gore “sold his Current TV network to Al Jazeera in 2013 for $100 million. Al Jazeera is funded by the Qatari government.” Poor Al. First the climate gig is up. Now this.
March 25, 2015: “At least three of the five Taliban leaders traded last year for Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl have tried to plug back into their old terror networks, a government official familiar with the intelligence told Fox News, describing it as an attempt to “re-engage.”
The new allegations come as Bergdahl now faces desertion charges, and as the one-year deal governing the former Guantanamo detainees’ supervised release in the Gulf nation of Qatar is set to expire — at the end of May.”
April 20, 2016: “But its ties to known terrorist organizations like the Taliban and Hamas have made Qatar both a valuable middleman in the region and, at times, an unreliable friend. The country has served as a broker in negotiations that have returned Western hostages held abroad by Syrian rebel groups or the Taliban, including captured U.S. Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl. It has also looked the other way while Qatari financiers funneled money to militant groups in Syria and elsewhere.
Publicly the U.S. government has rebuked Qatar multiple times in recent years over its refusal to take a harder line against terrorist financing. Yet Qatar is home to an important U.S. air base, the lease for which the U.S. extended for another decade in 2013. A year later, the U.S. agreed to sell Qatar $11 billion worth of Patriot missiles, attack helicopters, and other military equipment.”
March 2017: Teaching of Islam in public school as dictated by Common Core overruled by Judge Gorsuch: “”THE GOVERNMENT CERTAINLY HAS NO BUSINESS BEING INVOLVED IN RELIGION, BUT THIS ISN’T A GOVERNMENT ISSUE OR A RELIGIOUS ISSUE. THIS IS ABOUT THE JUDICIAL BRANCH INTERPRETING THE LAWS AS THEY APPLY TO THE TEACHING OF RELIGION. WE SHOULD BE TEACHING ANY RELIGIONS IN THIS COUNTRY BESIDES STANDARD JUDEO-CHRISTIANITY, AS OUR FOUNDERS WANTED, AND WE CERTAINLY SHOULDN’T BE FILLING THE CHILDREN WITH LIES ABOUT ISLAM BEING A ‘RELIGION OF PEACE’ WHEN THEY SEE THE CARNAGE ON THE NEWS ALMOST EVERY DAY.”
May 2017: Trump Saudi Trip: “Trump was at the Ritz Carlton in Riyadh to participate in meetings with the King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Amir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi.”
June 2, 2017: ““It (Qatar) must break off relations with Iran, stop confrontations with the Persian Gulf countries, refuse financing information channel Al-Jazeera, which works against Saudi Arabia and the UAE,” Ishki said. Furthermore, as the director pointed out Qatar should not provide assistance to terrorist groups in the region and to Houthis in Yemen.”
June 5, 2017: “The Arab world’s biggest powers cut ties with Qatar on Monday over alleged support for Islamists and Iran, reopening a festering wound two weeks after U.S. President Donald Trump’s demand for Muslim states to fight terrorism.Saudi Arabia, Egypt, United Arab Emirates and Bahrain severed diplomatic relations with Qatar in a coordinated move. Yemen, Libya’s eastern-based government and the Maldives joined later. Transport links shut down, triggering supply shortages.”
