American Action Network in the Tank for TPP/TPA!

By now, nearly everyone not living under a rock, has heard about the Trans-Pacific Partnership “Trade Deal” and Fast-Track Authority (TPP/TPA) push attempted by Congress on President Obama’s authority. We’ve also learned how the word “transparency” in this administration isn’t exactly the same definition one would find in Webster’s Dictionary. This “Super-Secret”, must pass deal, may only be viewed by members of Congress behind closed doors who sign a non-disclosure agreement. Coming from the self-proclaimed, most transparent administration in history ya’ll! [sarc]

What’s even more interesting is the fact that the majority of American people are completely against this so-called “trade deal”. We’re not allowed to know what’s in it? Did these men and women in Congress forget they were voted for BY the people and most importantly FOR the people? I’m wondering if we should send them a memo reminding them of their duties and responsibilities regarding their main charge; representing the people who elected them. As it stands, any one member in favor of TPP/TPA is in violation of the following article of the US Constitution.

US Constitution – “Article 1, Section 8, Clause 3: To regulate commerce with foreign nations, and among the several states…”

Luckily, we have ingenious Americans who believe the people deserve to be informed about all issues, especially when it could affect the sovereignty of our nation. The President and members of Congress, namely the GOP, who are attempting to force this monstrosity down our throats, neglected to mention that little nugget.

Politico reported “American Action Network, a conservative outside political advocacy group closely aligned with Speaker John Boehner (act shocked), spent close to $1 million to promote a bill that would give President Obama Fast-Track Trade Authority, saying China will gain economic prominence if Congress fails to act.

The TV advertisement blasts Democrats and trade unions for opposing the bill, and says if Congress doesn’t pass trade promotion authority, China will benefit and America will lose. It’s meant to bolster House GOP leadership’s efforts by giving air cover to Republicans vote for TPA.”

In reality, this is nothing more than lobbyists doing what they do best and in this case – fear mongering! There’s not an ounce of truth to American Action Network’s allegations. Regardless of what some in Congress would like to believe, Americans have been doing a lot of research on their own. We’re not about to be “Pelosi’d” again! “We have to pass it to find out what’s in it.” No Thank you!

American Action Network wasn’t expecting such a negative response from informed conservatives on Twitter. Apparently, much like Congress, they think we believe everything we’re told. Oops! Sorry AAN! You’ve found yourself up against very knowledgeable conservatives. We’re very much aware you sold your soul to the devil of politics at our expense. Good luck with your future endeavors.

Take a look at their tweet, proudly showing off the $1 million spent on…crap!

Which conservatives are you talking to? Surely not the one’s who vote or pay attention. I believe you should have directed your tweet to Daddy Warbucks, John Boehner.

Crickets from American Action Network….So my friends and teammates at Red Nation Rising thought they would help them out by informing their Twitter followers. It’s the least we could do.

As a matter of fact, we at Red Nation Rising and Red Nation Rising State Accounts, along with several other conservatives, have been tweeting about TPP/TPA since the end of March. We’ve been slamming Congress with tweets from constituents about why TPP/TPA is bad for America. I’m not sure where AAN’s been during this time; most likely collecting money and not paying attention.

I find it hilarious American Action Network is trying to play partisan politics with this disastrous scam upon the American people. For the first time in a very long time Democrats and conservatives actually agree on something, for different reasons of course, but we stand together against TPP/TPA. The Huffington Post, who I rarely agree with, wrote an article entitled, ‘Are Representatives Breaking Oath for Fast Track Legislation? Here’s How You can Stop Them!’ What I find most remarkable about this article is the author’s citation of the US Constitution and the very last paragraph – it sounds as if it was written by a conservative. Maybe there’s hope for humanity yet.

“The good news is that we still do live in a democracy! Use your voice, be polite and respectful but let your representative know that you’d like them to honor the oath they took to uphold the Constitution, to represent the will of the people, and to be the checks and balances on the Executive Branch. If we don’t like how our government is working, it is up to us to change it before it is too late. Participate in your democracy or you may very well lose it.”

See American Action Network’s ridiculous tweet below:

Really? AAN is standing for American jobs? Please explain. Supporting TPP/TPA kills American jobs and sends them overseas. NAFTA on steroids ring a bell?

Let’s talk about Internet freedom, offshore American jobs, unsafe food and products, increased cost of pharmaceuticals, banning ‘buy American’ policies – just to name a few. Did I miss mention of this in American Action Network’s $1 million ad? Oops! It’s because the information wasn’t there! They’d have us believe it’s all about China taking over trade. You haven’t seen the worst of it yet. Take a look and try not to choke on bull crap:

I agree Lu. This is definitely a PR nightmare for American Action Network, especially considering they spent $1 million smakeroo’s on a failed attempt to get one over on the American people. That has to sting a little. Another important detail AAN failed to notice is Red Nation Rising has produced millions of tweets to members of Congress using the hashtags #KillTPA #NOTPP #RedNationRising. Maybe AAN should look more closely at Twitter Trends. We trended No. 2 and No. 3 last night alone.

Just over a week ago, Red Nation Rising hit over 13 million timelines in 90 minutes using these very same hashtags. It didn’t cost us a dime, only the time it took to send an informed tweet to members of Congress. This is grassroots activism AAN, not spending millions on lobbyists and special interest groups. You should pay attention!

It’s this easy!

On March 25, 2015, the Public Citizen released a fact sheet detailing specifics on the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP). This was our first look into exactly what Congress was willing to give up and hand over to the Executive Branch, foreign nations; not to mention the extraordinary amount of job losses, lower wages and higher prescription drug costs. Here’s an excerpt from the article:

“Have you heard? The TPP is a massive, controversial “free trade” agreement currently being pushed by big corporations and negotiated behind closed doors by officials from the United States and 11 other countries – Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, and Vietnam.

The TPP would expand the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) “trade” pact model that has spurred massive U.S. trade deficits and job loss, downward pressure on wages, unprecedented levels of inequality and new floods of agricultural imports. The TPP not only replicates, but expands NAFTA’s special protections for firms that offshore U.S. jobs. And U.S. TPP negotiators literally used the 2011 Korea FTA– under which exports have fallen and trade deficits have surged – as the template for the TPP.

In one fell swoop, this secretive deal could:

Although it is called a “free trade” agreement, the TPP is not mainly about trade. Of TPP’s 29 draft chapters, only five deal with traditional trade issues. One chapter would provide incentives to offshore jobs to low-wage countries. Many would impose limits on government policies that we rely on in our daily lives for safe food, a clean environment, and more. Our domestic federal, state and local policies would be required to comply with TPP rules.

NAFTA on Steroids

The TPP would even elevate individual foreign firms to equal status with sovereign nations, empowering them to privately enforce new rights and privileges, provided by the pact, by dragging governments to foreign tribunals to challenge public interest policies that they claim frustrate their expectations. The tribunals would be authorized to order taxpayer compensation to the foreign corporations for the “expected future profits” they surmise would be inhibited by the challenged policies.

We only know about the TPP’s threats thanks to leaks – the public is not allowed to see the draft TPP text. Even members of Congress, after being denied the text for years, are now only provided limited access. Meanwhile, more than 500 official corporate “trade advisors” have special access. The TPP has been under negotiation for six years, and the Obama administration wants to sign the deal this year. Opposition to the TPP is growing at home and in many of the other countries involved.”

For more details, please click HERE. This is only a fraction of what the “trade deal” entails.

If only American Action Network did their homework instead of putting dollar signs before integrity. The Public Citizen is only one of many websites who published details of TPP/TPA. Due to an overwhelming outcry against this excrement President Obama and members of Congress tried to pass off as a “trade deal”, it looks as if House Speaker, John Boehner lost support among Republicans. Heartbreaking really – the morons shouldn’t have supported giving away their Congressional authority or America’s sovereignty in the first place!

It’s a tragedy to see $1 million go to waste. American Action Network – take a gander at Twitter hashtags #KillTPA #NoTPP and #RedNationRising if you’d like to see where your money’s going. Killing TPA, one tweet at a time.

My advice to so-called conservative organizations and members of Congress: it’s best if you keep your eyes peeled and your ears open. The American people are asleep no more!

Here’s a few more tweets to help you see what American resolve looks like. We won’t stand by while our government gambles with American sovereignty!

Oh look…Facts!

Do you hear that sound? It’s a Red Nation Rising!
